DEPUTY MINISTER AŞKAR, RECEIVES UKRAINIAN AMBASSADOR BODNAR
The Deputy Minister of National Education, Petek Aşkar, received Ukraine's Ambassador to Ankara, Vasyl Bodnar.At the meeting, held in MoNE Tevfik İleri Hall, education opportunities in Türkiye for the children coming from Ukraine due to the war and the draft of the Türkiye-Ukraine Education Cooperation Agreement were discussed.
Deputy Minister Petek Aşkar, expressed her wishes for the Russia-Ukraine war to come to an end and restore peace as soon as possible. During the meeting Minister Aşkar stated that the Ministry is ready for the education of Ukrainian students who are guests in Türkiye due to the war, to continue.
Petek Aşkar reminded us that MoNE has been working for a long time for the education of the children, who were obliged to leave their homeland and she said " I believe that in the light of these experiences we will be able to perform effective studies for the school-age Ukrainian children who have come or will be coming to Türkiye. At present Turkish National Education System is designed for the continuation of education under all circumstances. We have all the necessary infrastructure to ensure the continuation of education for Ukrainian children who have taken refuge in our country due to the war."
Ukrainian Ambassador to Ankara Bodnar said they always felt Türkiye's support and thanked Deputy Minister Aşkar for accepting them.
Hasan Ünsal, Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations; Tuncay Morkoç, Directorate General of Basic Education; Halil İbrahim Topçu, Director General of Secondary Education and Özgür Türk, Director General of Information Technologies also attended the meeting.
