"ETAK24" SUMMIT ON EDUCATION TECHNOLOGIES TO BE HELD IN ISTANBUL
The Ministry of National Education will organize the International Summit on Technology, R&D, and Quality in Education (ETAK24) in Istanbul from September 5-7 to promote advancements in technology, research and development, and quality in education on an international level.President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to attend the International Summit on Technology, R&D, and Quality in Education, which will be held at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center.
The Türkiye Educational Technology Summit (TETZ), which was successfully held in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, will be organized for the fifth time this year as ETAK24, taking place in Istanbul from September 5-7.
At the summit, MoNE's advancements in educational technology, R&D activities, and quality will be introduced on an international stage. The event will provide a platform for sharing exemplary work with the global public and will facilitate cooperation and visibility by bringing together leading national and international institutions in these fields.
The event will feature presentations by experts on R&D and quality, as well as special sessions, panels, workshops, and experience points.
Additionally, the summit will feature an exhibition area where booths and technology demonstrations related to the work of both Turkish companies in the educational technology ecosystem and international companies will be showcased.
President Erdoğan is also expected to attend the summit and deliver a speech on September 6.
109 teachers to present
As part of the summit's paper presentations, the Ministry's digital assessment system received paper submissions from teachers on specified themes.
Each submission was thoroughly reviewed by a committee composed of teachers and academic reviewers, and a blind review process was applied throughout. After the detailed review process was completed, 119 papers were selected for oral presentation at the summit.
Accordingly, 109 teachers will deliver oral presentations of their papers at the summit.
The FATİH Project was launched in 2011
The Ministry of National Education launched the FATİH Project in 2011 to ensure equal opportunities in education, improve technological infrastructure in schools, and promote the effective use of information and communication technologies in teaching and learning processes.
The FATİH Project aimed to equip all schools and classrooms in Türkiye with interactive whiteboards, establish the necessary hardware infrastructure, provide high-speed internet to each school, and distribute tablet computers to teachers and students, thereby enhancing the use of information technology in the learning and teaching process. This initiative marked a pioneering effort in educational technology worldwide.
As part of this project, the Education Informatics Network (EBA) became the most visited platform in the world during the pandemic, ranking first among all educational sites worldwide.
