MINISTER ÖZER MEETS IN PARIS WITH STUDENTS SENT TO FRANCE FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDIES THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL EDUCATION'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM.

While in Paris for UNESCO's "Transforming Education Pre-Summit," Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer met with students who had been sent to France for post-graduate studies through the Ministry of National Education's scholarship program, in accordance with Law No. 1416.

Minister Özer visited the Turkish Embassy in Paris as part of his contacts, and he met with scholarship students from the Ministry of National Education's Selection and Placement of Candidates Sent Abroad for Postgraduate Education (YLSY) program.

Minister Özer listened to each and every post-graduate student in France and stated that he would activate the mechanisms for improvement in education abroad by considering the suggestions of students and that he wished for the students to increase their activities in the field of art and culture.

Minister Özer emphasized that those who completed the YLSY program, which has allowed thousands of young people to study abroad since the Republic's inception, are still involved in the country's most important works, and that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk personally wrote letters to each student studying abroad. Highlighting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's special importance to the YLSY scholarship program, Minister Özer stated, "The number of scholars has increased significantly, particularly in the last 20 years. You are extremely important to our country. Your presence here will make a major contribution to our country's progress. We want you to complete your training in critical fields and return to our country with different competencies. A single person has the power to change an entire society. Every individual is extremely important to Türkiye. Each of your problems is very important to me. It is our duty to solve them. We will put in place a mechanism that will constantly improve your conditions."

The students thanked Minister Özer for listening to their problems and suggestions during the conversation.

At the meeting, Türkiye's Ambassador to Paris Ali Onaner, Deputy Ministers of National Education Sadri Şensoy and Petek Aşkar, Director General for EU and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of National Education Hasan Ünsal, and Türkiye's Education Counsellor in Paris Suna Timur Ağıldere were also present.
