MINISTER ÖZER MEETS WITH AMRULLAYEV, MINISTER OF EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

Mahmut Özer, Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye met with Amrullayev, Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan to exchange of views on cooperation between two countries in the field of education.

Deputy Ministers Petek Aşkar, Sadri Ensoy, and Nazif Yılmaz, as well as the Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs Hasan Ünal, Director General for Vocational and Technical Education Nazan Şener, Director General for Secondary Education Halil İbrahim Topçu, Director General for Higher Education and Study Abroad Cemal Yıldız, and an Azerbaijani delegation attended the meeting held in MoNE Tevfik İleri Meeting Hall.

In his remarks, Minister Özer expressed his pleasure at welcoming his Azerbaijani counterpart and his delegation, and stated that cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the field of education has grown in scope and quality.

Minister Özer also stated that the signing of a cooperation protocol with the Turkish Maarif Foundation, as well as efforts to establish a joint university paved the way for the transposition of the acquis in the field of higher education in Türkiye.

Noting that the "Regulation on Vocational Education Institutions" should be implemented as soon as possible in order for the "Cooperation Protocol for Vocational Education," which has special importance in cooperation, to be implemented, Minister Özer also stated that the "Regulation on Baku Turkish Educational Institutions," which has reached the approval stage thanks to the combined efforts of both countries, is expected to be completed as soon as possible.

Minister Özer stated that they are very pleased with the visit of Azerbaijani teachers and students to the Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial in order to further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries, and that Turkish students will be sent to Azerbaijan from here with great pleasure in May or June.

Emin Amrullayev Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, stated that he is pleased to be in Türkiye and mentioned the difficulties they have with pre-school education. Minister Amrullayev expressed a desire to host Minister Özer in his country as soon as possible in order to further develop the two countries' cooperation in the field of education.

Minister Özer stated that pre-school education is one of the areas that we also prioritize. Our President announced yesterday that we will construct 3,000 new kindergartens as well as 40 new kindergartens within existing schools.

Our goal is to reach 100% enrollment by the age of five.

Noting that the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye produces teaching materials in a variety of fields, Minister Özer stated, "We also create materials in the field of special education.

We create our materials with the contributions and experience of our teachers. In this regard, we can provide Azerbaijan with any type of assistance. "

After the visiting Minister mentioned problems with employment in vocational education, Minister Özer stated developments in vocational education in Türkiye and he also added that "the problems arising from previous practices in vocational education have been largely resolved.

Our vocational schools are now exporting and producing patents. Academically successful students favor vocational education as well. Students with the potential to win science high school began to pursue vocational education. "
