Mahmut Özer, Minister of National Education met with assigned teachers and Turkish citizens in Qatar.Minister Özer and his delegation attended the program hosted by DOHA Ambassador Mustafa Göksu.
Minister Özer, who met with assigned teachers and Turkish citizens living in Qatar, expressed his pleasure at visiting and being together in the friendly and fraternal country of Qatar and congratulated the citizens on their Ramadan.
Minister Özer thanked the citizens for their contributions to the strengthening of relations between the two countries, the mutual sharing of historical and cultural heritage, and the increase in intercultural interaction, emphasizing that the Turkish citizens in Qatar are Türkiye's representatives.
Minister Özer stated that they made valuable contacts in Qatar to promote cooperation in the field of education.
Minister Özer noted that Türkiye has undergone a rapid transformation in the last 20 years, and valuable steps have been taken in many areas, from education to industry and culture.
Emphasizing that Türkiye stands and will continue to stand tall despite all the negativities in the world, Minister Özer said, "I believe that you will continue to work here to make Türkiye much stronger in unity and solidarity."
Reminding that he visited the Turkish School and met with the teachers there, Minister Özer said: "I am proud of them. They work with great sacrifice here. We have observed with our teachers how to serve better in our Turkish School. It is not possible to provide a proper education to Turkish citizens with just 9 classrooms in this school. We will increase the number of these nine classrooms to 36. There is no kindergarten. I hope we will do that as well. Pre-school education is one of the areas that we attach great importance to. Therefore, we will both build a kindergarten and eliminate dual education here. As soon as we return, we will send the resources and triple the number of our schools. We will be with our teachers here for all their needs, from language training to professional development. As the Ministry, we have the power to do this, I hope we will take the necessary steps to bring them to life next week. "
DOHA Ambassador Göksu also thanked Minister Özer for attending the program.
The program was also attended by assigned teachers, Turkish citizens in Qatar, and Qatar Embassy employees.
