"MY PREFERENCE IS TURKISH" PROJECT IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci visited Sarajevo to make inspections within the scope of "My Preference is Turkish" project in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and Yunus Emre Institute.The 17th In-Service Training and My Preference Turkish Evaluation Program was opened at Gazi Hüsrev Bey Library in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Sarajevo, the Ministry of National Education and Yunus Emre Enstitüsü (YEE), the program, which will be held between 09-12 November, was attended by Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci, Director General for EU and Foreign Affairs Tuba Korkmaz, YEE President Şeref Ateş, Turkish Ambassador to Sarajevo Sadık Babür Girgin and many guests.
The opening program started with a minute of silence for the martyrs who lost their lives in Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan and Gaza. Participating in the program, Deputy Minister of National Education Yelkenci stated that "My Preference is Turkish" and the accompanying Sister School projects have created a very strong unity and said, "Today's opening is actually a program that serves the whole project. 'My Preference is Turkish' is an important project for Bosniak children in Bosnia and Herzegovina to learn Turkish and improve their ties with Turkey."
Yelkenci said that the exchange of students with the Sister School project is an important step towards the future. The "My Preference is Turkish" project carried out by YEE with the support of the Ministry of National Education enables students to learn this language by adding Turkish to the list of elective courses in primary, secondary and high schools.
Yelkenci also paid a visit to the Turkey Maarif Foundation School as part of his program.
