Our Authorities, Duties and Responsibilities
Article 315 of Chapter 11 of the Presidential Decree No. 1 published in the Official Gazette dated 10.07.2018 and numbered 30474 sets out the duties and authorities of the Directorate General for European Union and Foreign Relations. In addition to the top policy documents such as Development Plans and Medium Term Program, the duties and responsibilities of the Directorate General are determined in line with policy documents such as the 2023 Education Vision and Strategic Plan prepared by the Ministry.
1) To carry out the cooperation activities of the Ministry with the European Union and other international organizations and to carry out the works and procedures related to bilateral agreements within the framework of the relevant legislation,
2) To ensure the coordination of projects carried out by other units of the Ministry and based on international cooperation,
3) To fulfill the duties assigned to the Ministry by the Law No. 168 dated 16/12/1960 on Social Assistance to Teachers of Turkish Origin and Foreign Nationals in Foreign Countries,
4) To fulfill the duties and services related to foreign students who come to our country to study on their own account with scholarships provided by foreign governments and organizations or granted to foreigners by our country,
5) To carry out cooperation in the field of education and training with countries and communities and other countries that have language, history or cultural unity with our country,
6) To perform other duties assigned by the Minister.
