Governor of United Darfur of the Republic of Sudan Mr. Mini Arko Minawi Domi and Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Ankara Mr. Nadir Yousif Eltayeb visited our Directorate General with a delegation.

Governor and Ambassador were welcomed by Ms. Tuba Korkmaz, Director General for European Union and Foreign Relations.

During the meeting between the delegations; Governor Domi talked about the situation of Sudanese students who could not open and study due to the war and demanded that especially Darfur Region needs support in the field of education and Sudanese students should be given higher education scholarships. He also stated that students who want to come to Turkey for higher education have difficulties in equivalence due to the war and asked for support.

Director General Korkmaz stated that he took note of the demands and stated that the necessary action would be taken by forwarding them to the relevant authorities. Head of Bilateral Relations Department Eda Doğankaya and Africa Branch Manager Osman Eroğlu were also present at the meeting. 

The meeting ended with the presentation of gifts and a photo session.
