STUDENTS OF IMAM HATIP SCHOOL IN BURSA WILL GRADUATE WITH AN
Nilüfer İmam Hatip Anatolia High School in Bursa received the International Baccalaureate Organization's "Diploma" and "Middle Year Program" authorization document.Nilüfer İmam Hatip Anatolia High School which also has a secondary school section, is providing education in different fields varying from science and technology to technology courses to its students as a part of a program implemented for two years.
In addition to attending intensive foreign language classes, high school and secondary school students are designing different projects.
The school is considered among the project schools in science and social science fields that will give an internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma which will provide students priority in entering universities in USA and Europe.
Authorized school has a total of 600 students and 150 of its students are enrolled in IB classes.
Implemented in 162 countries
School administrators researched the IB education system which has been implemented in 162 countries and decided to implement the system in their school. The school enrolled 127 students in the "Middle Year Program" of the IB system and became the first school that implemented this program at the secondary school level.
Teachers of the school who wanted to carry this program to the high school level and educate children who can think, research and have high national and moral values consulted with the Directorate General for Religious Education which also hosts important projects in this regard. The directorate stated that today there are imam hatip high schools which provide intensive language courses such as English, French and Spanish and based on technology imam hatip schools can achieve a transformation by preserving their traditions. School teachers stressed that they do not only give religious education and they believe that their students can be successful in various different professions such as medicine and engineering.
A student who becomes a part of a global IB program receives an IB diploma which is accepted as reference in the elite universities of the world. Students improved their artistic and cognitive skills.
Students are happy about the program
6th grade student Fatma Ecrin Esmer stated that she has been taking classes as a part of the IB program and the program was perfect for her. Noting that the school administration has been providing important advantages to students, Esmer said, "Our classroom's design is interactive, we make practices. First of all, I want to overcome all of my personal obstacles and open up to the world without forgetting my values. I believe that I will achieve success as a part of this program. My greatest goal is to study medicine and help other people."
Student İbrahim Enes Yıldız mentioned that he had improved his English due to this program. Yıldız stated that he adapted a new point of view to the projects after learning that he could enroll in universities abroad, adding that he also improved its skills in painting and science workshops.
Meanwhile, another student Furkan Mustafa Arı stated that he loved the lab at school and had the opportunity to make various different experiments. "We have designed a project concerning overcoming prejudices about autism. Our presentation and project drew a lot of attention. My English was not very good before I enrolled in this school but now I have improved my command of English."
