TÜRKİYE WILL BE THE FIRST HOSTING COUNTRY OF THE TEACHER EXCHANGE PROGRAM IN THE TURKIC WORLD
Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that they decided to organize the first Teacher Exchange Program between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States on 6-12 June this year in Ankara and İstanbul.Minister Özer made statements regarding the cooperation in the field of education among the countries of the Organization of Turkic States, of which Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Türkiye are members and Hungary and Turkmenistan are observer members.
Özer emphasized that the contacts at various levels in the 13 years since the establishment of the organization ensured the sharing of experience and the establishment of new partnerships in every field and added, "We continue our efforts to provide a higher quality of education to young people among the member countries of the organization and to develop new collaborations in the field of education between countries based on the statements of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan as 'From now on, our new name and structure will be faster, persistently take root, get bigger, improve and grow with the help of the Organization of Turkic States. The time will come when the sun will start to rise from the East again. The geography of Turkic will once again become a center of attraction and enlightenment for all humanity."
Özer stated that the Meeting of the Organization of Turkic Council 6th Education Ministers Meeting was hosted by the Ministry of National Education before the 8th Summit of Turkic Council Heads of State hosted by President Erdogan in November last year and reminded that the name of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries was changed to "the Organization of Turkic States" in the joint statement published after the 8th Summit of Turkic Council Heads of State. Noting that at the meeting held in İstanbul on November, 3-4 last year, it was decided to hold the 1st Teacher Exchange Program of the Organization of Turkic States in 2022 in Türkiye, and Minister Özer gave the following information:
"We attach great importance to the cooperation of the council members in the field of education as in other fields. We have decided to organize the first Teacher Exchange Program between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara and İstanbul on June 6-12 this year. Thus, Türkiye will be the first host country of the Teacher Exchange Programme. We will invite teachers from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and observer members Turkmenistan and Hungary to the program. With the program, we aim to convey the experiences of our country in the field of education to our guest teachers. During the program, Turkish education system and the education systems of the invited countries will be introduced, teaching methods, techniques and new approaches in measurement and evaluation will be discussed. As the Ministry, we will convey the distance education methods implemented in Türkiye during the COVID-19 period, the Education Information Network (EBA) and the new studies carried out in our special education and guidance centers, vocational and technical education centers to our guest educators.
With the initiation of the Teacher Exchange Program, we also aim to strengthen mutual trust, friendship and good neighborliness, enhance social and cultural development, encourage cooperation in the fields of education, culture, science and technology, expand interaction and boost the professional qualifications of education staff between the Turkic States.

Minister Özer stated that the program will last for a week, and that school and institution visits and cultural programs will be organized, and that certificates will be given to participant teachers.
Minister Özer; pointing out that the Organization of the Turkic States, which is the product of joint effort, common vision and common dreams, is also a symbol of a common ideal, "Today, not only our language, history, geography and culture bring us together, but also the desire to build a prosperous future together. and our will.
Thanks to the Student Exchange Programme, Sister School Program, Teacher Expert Exchange Program and Orhun Exchange Program for higher education, not only knowledge and experience will be shared among our students and teaching staff, but also culture will be developed and strengthened among our peoples" Özer said.
