TWO BEAUTIFUL CITIES ON THE WAY TO INDEPENDENCE: ANKARA AND WARSAW; TWO GREAT POETS: MEHMET AKİF ERSOY AND ADAM MİCKİEWİCZ" COMPOSITION COMPETITION
The award ceremony of the essay contest titled "Two Beautiful Cities on the Way to Independence: Ankara and Warsaw, Two Great Poets: Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Adam Mickiewicz", which was held in Ankara and Warsaw under the coordination of the Educational Consultancy of the Warsaw Embassy, was held simultaneously online in Ankara and Warsaw on May 29, 2023.The award ceremony of the composition competition, which was organized to introduce the struggle of Türkiye and Poland on the way to independence, our historically rooted friendly relations and our common national values to high school students, was held simultaneously online in Ankara and Warsaw on May 29, 2023.
The event, which was carried out in cooperation with the Directorate for EU Affairs, the Embassy in Warsaw, the Ministry of National Education, the Directorate General for European Union and Foreign Relations, the Crariage of the Warsaw Voivodeship, and the Yunus Emre Institute in Warsaw, received financial support from the Directorate for EU Affairs.
At the award ceremony, which started with a briefing by Mehmetali Akdağ, Education Counselor of the Embassy in Warsaw; speeches on the meaning and importance of the project were made by Hasan Ünsal, Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of National Education, Cengiz Kamil Fırat, Ambassador to Warsaw, Prof. Dr. Hacer Topaktaş, Chairman of the Evaluation Commission, and Zerrin Keskin, Head of the Communication Department of the Directorate for EU Affairs.
Embassy Diplomats, Ministry of National Education Department Heads Ömer Can Cömert, Zeynep Öçgüder, Yunus Emre Institute Director Abdussamed Bilgili, Evaluation Commission members, students and school officials were present at the event. Following the presentation of gifts to the award-winning students Weronika Mioduszewska, Nesibe Serra Çimenyer, Patryk Wójcik, Mikolaj Szmagala, Kalina Sokolnicka, Elmir Mammadli, Olga Cwynar; the ceremony ended with the reading of the works of Weronika Mioduszewska, student of XLIII LO im. Kazimierza Wielkiego w Warszawie and Nesibe Serra Çimenyer, student of Ankara-Yenimahalle Şehit Ömer Halisdemir Anadolu İmam Hatip High School.
