VISIT OF MINISTER ÖZER TO QATAR

National Education Minister Mahmut Özer who has been in Qatar to hold bilateral talks, paid  a visit to the Turkish Embassy in Doha with accompanying delegation.
VISIT OF MINISTER ÖZER TO QATAR

 Minister Özer, who signed the Visitors Book, received information from Ambassador Mustafa Göksu about Türkiye's activities in Qatar.

 

Göksu stated that he was honored to host Minister Özer and thanked him for the visit.

 

Minister Özer also thanked Göksu for the efforts the Embassy put in to enhance the relations between the two countries.

 

Afterwards, Minister Özer also visited the Office of the Education Counsellor within the Embassy.

 

Visit of Minister Özer to Qatar University

 Mahmut Özer, Minister of National Education visited Dr.Hasan Al-Derham, Chancellor of Qatar University.

 

Minister Özer, stated that he is pleased to visit the friendly and brotherly country Qatar during the meeting and noted that relations in the field of education, as in other fields, were strengthened by the high-level visits recently.

 

Minister Özer stated that the cooperation in every area of education between Türkiye and Qatar continues resolutely, "Mutual Student Exchange Scholarship Programs on the university level are actively in progress. We have been sending students to a variety of universities since 1929. We also send students to Qatar within the scope of 1416. We have the intention to bring cooperation to a higher level and increase the capacity."

 

Minister Özer said that "educational cooperations are important in strengthening relations between the two countries in the long term and I believe that our children who have been trained here are beneficial for the strengthening of our friendship and transfer from generation to generation by building a bridge between our citizens, such as the cultural ambassador between the two countries. In this regard, we attach great importance to the cooperation."

 

Al-Derham stated that they want to increase the cooperation in the field of education, and said, "Türkiye, a strong country, has become a centre of attraction for the countries in its region in terms of the size of the number of students, its educational capacity, competence, and geographical location."

 

During the meeting, it was agreed to increase the number of Turkish students to be sent to Qatar within the scope of 1416.

 

Minister Özer, who met with Turkish students and had a conversation a while, said that they are going to keep working in order to improve education processes.
